Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) has only been around for a few years compared to other sports but has a large international fan base because of its blood pumping strikes to its bone popping submissions. Below is a list of the Best Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Fighters past and present.

  • 5. BJ Penn – BJ “The Prodigy” Penn is a native of Hawaii and is known for his flexibility in grappling. He has excellent submission techniques and is also a strong standup fighter. He is also the current UFC Lightweight Champion.
  • 4. Anderson Silva – Anderson “The Spider” Silva is undoubtedly one of the best pound for pound fighters sporting an undefeated record in the UFC. Known for Phenomenal striking ability winning 7 out of 10 wins by KO and is currently the UFC Middleweight Champion.
  • 3. Lyoto Machida – Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida hails from Brazil but is of Japanese descent. He is known for his unpredictable fighting style and will often change techniques with every opponene. Also sporting an undefeated record and is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
  • 2. Georges St-Pierre – Georges “Rush” St-Pierre is undisputedly one of the most dynamic fighters around who can do almost anything inside the ring. A very well rounded fighter with one of the best take downs and defense in the industry. He is the current UFC Welterweight Champion.
  • 1. Fedor Emelianenko – Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko in my opinion is the best Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Fighter in the world and also the best the world might ever see. He has been undefeated since 2001 up to present and the only loss on his record is due to an accidental elbow strike that opened up a nasty cut. He has held the Heavyweight Championship belt in several Leagues including Pride Fighting Championship, BodogFight, M-1 Global and is now with IFL.
